The quilt, the new bedspread

The quilt, the new bedspread | Decoclico

Bohemian style invites itself into your home with this block print cotton quilt by Casatera. On soft cotton, using the traditional Indian printing technique, a pretty graphic pattern adds relief and soft contrast.

The bedspread

Remember, not so long ago, in the pretty bedrooms of well-to-do housewives, there was bound to be a bedspread. At your aunt's house in Brittany, it was probably plain and drawn to such an extent that it hid everything - the box spring, the feet and the pillows (which is also the point) - like a gift-wrapped box that you opened before going to bed, before closing the often matching curtains. At your aunt's house in Marseille, on the other hand, it was more like a huge floral boutis bought at the market on the Grand Place. On a misunderstanding, you almost brought one back, but it took up too much space on the train.

The bedspread

Although bedspreads are still very much in vogue, the time has come for bed throws. Choosing between plaid and a huge piece of fabric, the idea this time was rather to throw it (as the name suggests) more or less carelessly to the end of the bed, bringing extra warmth to the feet and a bit of style or color to the midway point. We still see it quite often, and it can be very pretty (but depending on the model and the layout, watch out for the granny under the blanket!)

Lédredon

However, the big fashion trend is the "lédredon", otherwise known as a mattress topper. Much smaller (around 90x190cm, i.e. almost the width of the bed, but only half the surface), it's a little thicker and, above all, a lot softer, which provides literal and figurative warmth, as well as visual cosiness.

Very pretty, often refined, it can also be placed on a sofa, a bench, outdoors, and even turned into an extra mattress or even a sleeping mat. In short, it's got it all.
