Caning first appeared in the early 18th century. It highlights the craftsmanship of weaving natural fibers. After making a big splash in the 20s, it fell into disuse before coming back with a modern facelift. And it's just the thing: cane is suitable for all styles and budgets.
For those who don't want to get too wet with the trend, let's start with a safe bet that's sure to make an impact: cane hanging baskets that highlight graphic features. Another superstar is the cane mirror, practical and resolutely designer, perfect for boosting an entrance or for an Art Deco bathroom. As for small everyday accessories, candleholders, pencil pots and storage boxes promise a chic effect, especially when cane is combined with black.
