Linen is the big trend of the moment, and the darling of bedrooms in particular. Linen bed linen and large linen cushions have been all the rage for the past few seasons, and we love it because it has nothing but advantages, a rare fact that deserves to be highlighted!
Natural and elegant, timeless and trendy. And it's these oddly opposite combinations, this nonchalant yet refined style, that enable it to appeal to a wide range of profiles, from trendy city dwellers and country homes to charming small hotels and contemporary interiors.

Even if it's currently fashionable. It has stood the test of time (for the record, it's the oldest textile in the world: it was at the heart of the economy 3,000 years BC!), it adapts to every style and there's no mistaking its taste. This ease of use is due in particular to its often soft, fairly neutral colors, and if they are colored at all, it's always in a palette of muted and/or deep colors (natural, taupe, old rose, terracotta, khaki, deep blue, eucalyptus green, saffron, etc.), colors that are right up with the times, of course!
When we learned that the linen comforter cover didn't need ironing (to keep that loose/creased effect), it was the best day of the year! When we found out that it would get softer with each wash, it was Christmas! And yes, linen does seem to soften with time, it doesn't warp, and on the contrary, its natural beauty explodes as the years go by.
This means it's cool in summer, and retains heat in winter. It's a healthy material that absorbs moisture (up to 20%, without appearing damp) and breathes, which eliminates allergy and dermatological problems.
And that's part of the reason it's in the spotlight. In fact, it's a natural, biodegradable plant that doesn't need fertilizing or watering to grow - the resources of the soil and rainwater are enough. And when it comes to industrial transformation, the process is equally natural and non-chemical (retting, scutching, combing, spinning, weaving)
A number of brands offer comforter covers at reasonable prices (at decoclico, we've chosen those from ' Harmony ), even if it's still a small investment. But why is it expensive? Because 80% of linen is made in France, between Caen and Dunkerque (as opposed to cotton, which often comes from intensive cultivation in India or China) + linen is rare (production of 200,000 tonnes per year, as opposed to 25 million tonnes of cotton) + the technique used to make linen fabric is more fastidious than any other. So quality inevitably comes at a price.
